Why I Do The Work I Do (My Story)

Clearly this was me at my 17th birthday (my grandmother made awesome cakes haha.) Even though I was a happy teen with a great life, I struggled A LOT internally with body image issues.

Growing up in the 90s, I never felt like I was skinny enough. Every message pushed to us was that you needed to be as skinny as possible, and of course your worthiness rode on this line (not in reality, but that’s what my subconscious thought.)

This resulted in me massively over-exercising and being obsessed with every little thing I put in my mouth.

I tried every exercise program and diet plan imaginable. I would run and work out for multiple hours a day, and of course would get stuck in the restricting and overeating cycle CONSTANTLY.

I was a massive binge eater during this time of my life…

I would label foods “good and bad” and shame myself when I would eat something I labeled “bad”….sending me further into an overeating spiral.

I would also use exercise as punishment for eating something “bad”…continuing this horrible spiral.

So, at this time of my life I had NO CLUE how to have balance with food or be efficient with  exercise.

And I also had no clue that my body could and SHOULD have a say in my eating and exercise decisions….I always thought some outside plan must know better than me.

I was completely controlled by my emotions with food, and always thought less was better with food, and more was better with exercise.

But, as I got older, went to college, and starting working in my field, I learned ALL about food + exercise science and psychology…

In doing so, I was not only able to fully create balance with food, but also learn how to be truly efficient with exercise…and in my 19 years in this industry, have helped many other women do the same.

So, going from this place of trying to willpower my way through eating and exercise, and having it aways feel like an uphill battle…

To…

This place of everything feeling completely natural and (now) easy, is something I want every woman to experience.

I truly went from what felt like a food and exercise prison, to a peaceful Zen garden.

I’m also now able to maintain my desired body fat level EASILY….instead of constantly yo-yoing up and down.

So, if YOU are sick of trying to fit yourself to some outside plan, or just feeling like you need to rely on willpower all the time, and want things to finally feel natural and just like an extension of YOU…
